What's New
Release notes for mBox
2026-09-18 The AI assistant can now suggest and carry out actions for you, browse a project's version history, see how individual fields changed over time, and get help without leaving the app.
New
- The AI assistant can now suggest actions and open pages for you, then carry them out once you confirm — triaging your inbox, snoozing items, subscribing, favouriting, setting your review status, or starting an AI review.
- Dates you type in plain language (like "Friday 2pm") are now understood in your own time zone.
- You can browse a project's version history and see how it looked at each earlier submission.
- Hover the clock on a project field to see how that value changed over time.
- A new in-app help menu, product changelog, and guided tours make it easier to find your way around.
- A new "About mBox AI" page explains what the assistant does and the limits of relying on it.
Improved
- AI review status now updates instantly on the project page, so it no longer shows as completed while the summary is still loading.
- Comment controls are clearer — tooltips are back, and author names lift gently when you hover them.
Fixed
- Stopping the AI mid-response no longer loses your chat history, and interrupted chats now recover cleanly when you reload.
- When an AI review fails or comes back empty, you now see the reason.
- Replying to a comment reliably opens the thread, and the sidebar toggle now closes an open thread cleanly in one click.
- Reviewer comments brought in from the approval system no longer show stray HTML codes.
2026-09-11 More complete inbox history — notifications that were previously missing can now be restored.
Fixed
- Historical inbox notifications that were previously missing can now be restored, so your inbox reflects the full activity history for your projects — including activity from before you were added.
2026-09-10 Set and see review status on a project, manage reviewers in one place, and more reliable inbox updates.
New
- You can now set your own review status on a project — Approved, Needs revision, or reviewed — right from the project header.
- See everyone reviewing a project at a glance, and add or remove reviewers from a single place on the project page.
Improved
- Inbox rows are cleaner and easier to scan.
- Keyboard shortcuts now show as clear chips in tooltips, and navigation icons line up neatly across the app.
Fixed
- You now reliably receive inbox updates for projects that were created before you were added, so nothing slips through.
- Being mentioned notifies you once without quietly subscribing you to everything on that project — and once you unsubscribe, it stays that way.
- Form fields no longer leave an empty gap below them; an error message appears only when there's actually something to fix.
2026-09-07 A refreshed look, live Knowledge Base updates, a smarter AI assistant, and a batch of everyday fixes.
New
- A refreshed navigation with a new logo and updated look throughout the app.
- A redesigned project detail view with a side panel you can rearrange to your liking — your layout is remembered next time.
- Knowledge Base rules now update live: changes you or the AI assistant make show up instantly, with no need to refresh.
- The AI assistant can now add or remove examples on a rule and change a rule's severity when you ask.
Improved
- Projects now display more of their fields, and starring a project keeps the whole project in your favorites.
- Cleaner preview cards and crisper text across the AI assistant lists.
Fixed
- Drawing a shape on an image no longer requires typing a comment — the shape itself is the note.
- Clicking a button repeatedly (for example, adding a Knowledge Base asset) no longer creates duplicates.
- The rule scope editor now correctly shows every stage checked when "All" is selected.
- The AI edit confirmation now shows the real before-and-after changes instead of reporting "no changes."
- Asking for a ranked list, like your top submissions by issue count, now returns project cards instead of an unexpected chart.
- Deleted review drafts no longer reappear.
- Smoother keyboard navigation in the inbox and more reliable row clicks.
2026-08-27 A tidier inbox filter bar, faster page loads, and fewer stray drafts and dead-ends.
Improved
- The inbox filter bar now reads as one continuous line — the button to add a filter sits right after your active filters instead of on its own row.
- General performance improvements make lists and pages load faster.
Fixed
- Starting a new styleguide rule and then leaving no longer leaves behind an empty, untitled rule.
- When your inbox filters or search match nothing, you now see a clear "no results" message instead of a leftover item lingering beside it or a spinner that never finishes.
- Opening a specific inbox message from a direct link is more reliable and no longer occasionally loses your place.
2026-08-25 A refreshed look for the inbox, snappier keyboard navigation, and AI reviews that no longer get stuck.
Improved
- Refreshed the inbox: cleaner list rows, a new company badge on each thumbnail, and updated typography across the app for a crisper, more consistent look.
- Moving through the inbox with your keyboard now feels instant — the selection highlights the moment you press a key instead of lagging behind.
Fixed
- AI reviews no longer get stuck. If a review fails you can now retry it with a "Try again" button, and a review that's taking longer than usual shows a clear status and retries automatically instead of spinning forever.
- Marking a message as done no longer jumps you to a different message. It stays in place with its checkmark, and you can toggle it back to undone with the same key.
2026-07-30 Your favourites now live in the navigation sidebar, the inbox has a cleaner empty-screen experience, and triaging completed items is smoother.
New
- Favourites now appear in the navigation sidebar. Anything you star shows up in a dedicated Favourites section, so you can jump straight back to it.
Improved
- Refreshed the inbox empty screens. You now get clearer messages — whether you've reached inbox zero or your filters are hiding everything — plus a "Reset all" action to quickly clear your search.
- When you mention a teammate in a comment, only people with access to that project are suggested.
Fixed
- Opening a favourite now works even when your current inbox filters would normally hide it.
- The inbox no longer flickers or drops titles and thumbnails while you're viewing completed items.
